Trusting even when I'm afraid-Mark 13:36, Day 75, Bible in 90 days
Scripture: Mark 14:36 NLT
“Abba, Father,” he cried out, “everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”
Observation: Jesus was hurting. Afraid. Worried. All feelings we would also share if we were in His position. He knew he would die soon, and He wanted God to take it away from Him. But as soon as He asked God to 'take this cup of suffering' away from Him, he immediately said he wanted GOD's will to be done. How brave!
Application: Do you trust God? If you were facing a major challenge, even if it was not one as serious as death, would you ask God to take it from you? Have you ever asked God to 'change His mind?' I know I have. But the more I get to know Him, the more I realize that His will is all I will ever need. Arguments, sickness, bills, family issues, work, and everything else all seem minute when compared to the span of His grace.
Prayer: Father I thank You for Your word. I thank You for placing me at this point in my life, ready and willing to serve You. I thank You for your protection and even for Your challenges, because I know You love me. I am also thanking You for Your protection around my family, and for helping me to understand the message found in Your word. Thank You for making it attractive and easy, and always accessible. In Jesus' name, Amen.
