Daughters and Servants
Isn't it wonderful how Christ loved and still loves us unconditionally, irrespective of who we are or where we come from? Our understanding of this love determines our perception and knowledge of who we are in Christ and most importantly, who Chirst is. In Luke 7:7-9, the centurion's understanding of who Christ is causes him to say to Jesus "you don't have to come to my house, but only say the word and my servant will be healed". In Mark 4, Jairus, with similar situation but different understanding of Jesus says, "come to my house to heal my daughter".
Notice, one is interceding for the daughter, but Bible records that the servant was close to the master, hence can be concluded that she was like a daughter figure to him. We can then go on to say both Jairus and the Centurion were interceding for their daughters.
Both had similar needs, both got their results but one got something else, something greater, a commendation from Jesus. It wasn't about the object of faith but the faith itself. It is not what you are believing God for that determines your faith but your understanding of who Jesus is and who you are determines your faith.
