Tempers

I've often wondered why someone with the talent for it has not turned Acts into a movie series. There's more than enough content for three or four movies it seems to me. Multiple plot lines, thrills, narrow escapes, travels all across the port cities of ancient Rome. It would make good cinema...
I am charmed by this verse tucked down at the end of the 15th chapter of Acts. Two of the early heroes do not agree on a traveling companion. John "Mark" had jumped ship before so Paul was adamant he should not accompany them again. Peterson describes and translates the conversation with "tempers flared." For some reason this morning, this one sentence encourages me. It lets me know that human beings--even great and mighty ones chosen by God to accomplish history-changing things--are messy. It doesn't excuse argument for the sake of arguing, but it lets me know people of courage will probably disagree from time to time.
