My Prayer For Today: I Want To Carry Out THE Mission

Here is Paul. Holy Spirit has been preparing him and warning him that EVERY SINGLE city he has been going into might be his last. And so now, he gathers these people. Trusted people. Who have learned and grown with Paul. He gathers them up to simply say "GoodBye." In vs. 36-37 it says that when Paul finished, everyone cried and hugged and kissed him. This is a truly dramatic sad moment. And in the midst of all of this, Paul's main point is "I want to FINISH the RACE I'M RUNNING. I WANT TO CARRY OUT THE MISSION I RECEIVED." God, my heart leaps at this thought. I started a RACE. In the grander scheme of things I know my life is a race, but I feel like I specifically started a race a little over a year ago. I WANT TO FINISH THAT RACE. I don't think I have even begun to carry out the mission I received from my Lord Jesus just yet. I believe I have been in a gestation period. Developing. Growing. Learning. Incubated. But soon, the incubation period will be over and the next phase of my mission will start. I want to be good at what God wants me to do. I want to COMPLETE it. I don't want to bring HIM shame. Help me God, to carry out the mission I received from Your Son. Help me finish my race STRONG. I love You, Father. Thank you, Papa, for direction, guidance and protection. You show such MERCY. Thank you, thank you, thank you. AMEN.
