Do Whatever He Tells You You
Mary's humility and trust in God continues to amaze me throughout my growth in the word.
Here is a woman impregnated at 14 by the Holy Spirit to carry God as a human being; raised God as a child until he leaves home at 33 to begin his road ministry. Any of us at this point would be demanding a Limousine service in Heaven!
But She is ever so humble and trusting; stable in her faith and firm in the belief that her son is the Messaiah-God-Christ(Saviour of the world).
Although she submitted to the will and discipline of God, she never forgot her duty to be a mother first to her son. so when the wine run out at the wedding; as a mother she assumed her responsibility and urged her son to begin his ministry with a miracle. No wine at a wedding is a big disaster and she knew her Messaiah son is the only one capable of performing this miracle to save(Christ) the day.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And do not lean on your own understanding;"(Proverbs 3:5)
These are words i believe that encouraged the young 14 years old virgin to utter the ultimate words "Amen"(So be It) to the Angel's message that she is to be the mother of the Messaiah.
And i believe these were the exact same words that encouraged her to say to the servants:
"Do whatever he tells you"(John 2:5)
She didnt panic or doubt or question his son's ability, technique or 10-point solutions on how to create wine out of thin air; she simply translated Proverbs 3:5 into the most beautiful spiritual words:"Do whatever he tells you."
Theologians have found that these are the last recorded words of Mary. It is almost like a set of immortal words that would encourage every believer or person that first encounters or is introduce to Jesus Christ; it is like Mary would always be saying through this verse:
"Trust me, it will all work out just fine, as long as you do whatever He tells you."
"I know him; He is my son. He is my Messaiah. He is my God and He is my saviour, Jesus Christ."
