Dress for Success
Dress for Success is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life (www.dressforsuccess.org). They provide the necessary training for a women to interview in a particular area as well as a suit to wear to the interview that is appropriate for the industry in which she is interviewing.
Colossians 3:12-14 reminds each of us of the appropriate clothing that we are to wear as representatives of Jesus Christ. This clothing fits who we are in Christ. We are to "clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience". He goes on to say, "bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity" (v. 13-14).
Don't leave the house today in your old clothes (old nature), they no longer fit who you are in Christ. Are you dressed for success? I would define success as living the Jesus Way. Change clothes if you must, but please choose to "dress for success" today.
