There is a great lesson in this action of Gideon's.
His story began with humility, although it went well beyond that to a total lack of self worth.
Here is a new Gideon, being powerfully used by God, and yet ready to humble himself for the sake of the cause.
This expression of humility is demonstrated in him giving honour to others, where he could nicely have kept it for himself.
Giving honour away is a key, not only to walking in humility, but in maintaining the sort of unity where God commands the blessing.
I will be looking for opportunities to honour people today.
It's amazing how much you can achieve when you don't mind who gets the credit!
