I got overwhelmed reading this part.

It was in this verse that Moses was told he would never see the promise land. Yet, he asked the Lord to find a leader to replace him and Moses proceeded to do anoint his replacement just as the Lord commanded.

I gained a whole new level of respect for Moses, that even after such a devastating moment, being punished and replaced, he still followed the Lord's commands. I pray for this kind of humility, because I still picture myself like a child having a tantrum when being punished, corrected, or when life just doesn't go my way. I pray for the humility and grace of Moses that even after being punished and down I want to do just as the Lord commanded.
