Gamaliel anmd Peter
The results of judgment are clarity about human intentions vs God's intentions. A byproduct of that clarity is fear and respect.
Gamaliel is a good counterpoint to the jealous and evil Sadducees. He was spiritually perceptive and courageous (5:38-39).
Peter must have been feeling spiritually energized at this time. He experienced God's miraculous intervention, he spoke boldly to the religious leaders, he became the agent of widespread healing and he had the right response to persecution.
Interesting that Peter's response to unfair violence was rejoicing not revenge.
