Q: What is the essence of faith?
If in the end we could not go to Heaven then why would we bother to live by God's standards while alive? 
A: Salvation - To go to Heaven

Q: What is the essence of salvation?
Salvation is to go to Heaven. Heaven is to live with the Lord. Let's say for example you get married and get your dream house and fill it with all your favorite things. If your lover get's killed in an accident then will your dream house and all your things give you joy? Without the Lord, even Heaven would not be Heaven.

Q: What is the essence of the Lord?
A: The essence of God is Love. 

Q: How do you fall in love with the Lord?
A: You have to KNOW God. If you spend time together, then you can say "I love you." But it means nothing if you say it to a stranger.
