More Law, Less Joy

The Galatians perplexed Paul. Because God has saved them by grace and yet they turned back on it and moved toward the law for assurance and salvation.

What was the result? Galatians 4:15 tells us. NO JOY. It was gone, why? Because that's what the law does - it leads to less joy...

Because:

None of us can obey it.

It reminds that we cannot obey it daily.

The only result in NOT obeying it is judgment.

How precious is the free gift of salvation found in Christ. He obeyed and we are justified.

As the Psalmist said:

Psalm 32:1 (NLT) Oh, what joy for those

whose disobedience is forgiven,

whose sin is put out of sight!
