Amen or Ouch?
I had a teacher in my Bible college (Elim) that would say, "if you can't say 'amen' then say 'ouch'". This verse reminds me of that saying but with a different twist, because it focuses more on what we are saying to people. Are our words making them say "ouch" or are we saying things that makes them say "amen"?
I would rather bring healing to someone then something that wounds them. It can be so hard in our culture to do that when we pride ourselves here in America on the quick sarcasm, which is often times a cutting remark. I know that I am just as guilty of it and it is something I don't want to do.
Lord, help me to bring healing to those around me with the words that I use. Amen.
