Actors and Actresses
An actor is a person who acts in a movie or play. He will pretend he is someone else and will behave accordingly. They work for the entertainment industry like movies, broadway and TV shows. Acting is a profession to them. It is not who they are.
There are also actors in church. There are people pretending they are perfect when in fact their lives are a mess. The Pharisees were actors. They had everybody fooled but Jesus. He could see through them. He removed their masks and showed who they really were.
Acting is pretending to be something you are not. You go to church, pay your tithes, help the poor and go to prayer meetings appearing to be perfect Christians. But when you are away, you become a whole different person.
Our challenge is to put the acting aside, take a look at the inside and make a personal, internal inventory about our faith. How do you really feel about God? About the Bible? About church? About other christians? About your own faith? Start dealing with the real issues that stop you from truly enjoying the power of God in your life and get back to the simplicity of faith. No more acting. Put it on the table before God and deal with them one by one.
