Job 32

1 So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.2 Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.3 Also against his three friends was his wrath kindled, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.4 Now Elihu had waited to speak unto Job, because they were elder than he.5 And when Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, his wrath was kindled.

6 And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said,7 I said, Days should speak,8 But there is a spirit in man,9 It is not the great that are wise,10 Therefore I said, Hearken to me;11 Behold, I waited for your words,12 Yea, I attended unto you,13 Beware lest ye say, We have found wisdom;14 For he hath not directed his words against me;15 They are amazed, they answer no more:16 And shall I wait, because they speak not,17 I also will answer my part,18 For I am full of words;19 Behold, my breast is as wine which hath no vent;20 I will speak, that I may be refreshed;21 Let me not, I pray you, respect any man’s person;22 For I know not to give flattering titles;

Job 33

1 Howbeit, Job, I pray thee, hear my speech,2 Behold now, I have opened my mouth;3 My words shall utter the uprightness of my heart;4 The Spirit of God hath made me,5 If thou canst, answer thou me;6 Behold, I am toward God even as thou art:7 Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid,8 Surely thou hast spoken in my hearing,9 I am clean, without transgression;10 Behold, he findeth occasions against me,11 He putteth my feet in the stocks,12 Behold, I will answer thee, in this thou art not just;13 Why dost thou strive against him,14 For God speaketh once,15 In a dream, in a vision of the night,16 Then he openeth the ears of men,17 That he may withdraw man from his purpose,18 He keepeth back his soul from the pit,19 He is chastened also with pain upon his bed,20 So that his life abhorreth bread,21 His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen;22 Yea, his soul draweth near unto the pit,23 If there be with him an angel,24 Then God is gracious unto him, and saith,25 His flesh shall be fresher than a child’s;26 He prayeth unto God, and he is favorable unto him,27 He singeth before men, and saith,28 He hath redeemed my soul from going into the pit,29 Lo, all these things doth God work,30 To bring back his soul from the pit,31 Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me:32 If thou hast anything to say, answer me:33 If not, hearken thou unto me:

Job 34

1 Moreover Elihu answered and said,2 Hear my words, ye wise men;3 For the ear trieth words,4 Let us choose for us that which is right:5 For Job hath said, I am righteous,6 Notwithstanding my right I am accounted a liar;7 What man is like Job,8 Who goeth in company with the workers of iniquity,9 For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing10 Therefore hearken unto me, ye men of understanding:11 For the work of a man will he render unto him,12 Yea, of a surety, God will not do wickedly,13 Who gave him a charge over the earth?14 If he set his heart upon himself,15 All flesh shall perish together,16 If now thou hast understanding, hear this:17 Shall even one that hateth justice govern?18 Him that saith to a king, Thou art vile,19 That respecteth not the persons of princes,20 In a moment they die, even at midnight;21 For his eyes are upon the ways of a man,22 There is no darkness, nor thick gloom,23 For he needeth not further to consider a man,24 He breaketh in pieces mighty men in ways past finding out,25 Therefore he taketh knowledge of their works;26 He striketh them as wicked men27 Because they turned aside from following him,28 So that they caused the cry of the poor to come unto him,29 When he giveth quietness, who then can condemn?30 That the godless man reign not,31 For hath any said unto God,32 That which I see not teach thou me:33 Shall his recompense be as thou wilt, that thou refusest it?34 Men of understanding will say unto me,35 Job speaketh without knowledge,36 Would that Job were tried unto the end,37 For he addeth rebellion unto his sin;
