Leviticus 21

1 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Speak unto the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say unto them, There shall none defile himself for the dead among his people;2 except for his kin, that is near unto him, for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother,3 and for his sister a virgin, that is near unto him, that hath had no husband; for her may he defile himself.4 He shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.5 They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.6 They shall be holy unto their God, and not profane the name of their God; for the offerings of Jehovah made by fire, the bread of their God, they do offer: therefore they shall be holy.7 They shall not take a woman that is a harlot, or profane; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband: for he is holy unto his God.8 Thou shalt sanctify him therefore; for he offereth the bread of thy God: he shall be holy unto thee: for I Jehovah, who sanctify you, am holy.9 And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the harlot, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.

10 And he that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil is poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not let the hair of his head go loose, nor rend his clothes;11 neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother;12 neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am Jehovah.13 And he shall take a wife in her virginity.14 A widow, or one divorced, or a profane woman, a harlot, these shall he not take: but a virgin of his own people shall he take to wife.15 And he shall not profane his seed among his people: for I am Jehovah who sanctifieth him.

16 And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,17 Speak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of thy seed throughout their generations that hath a blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God.18 For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or anything superfluous,19 or a man that is broken-footed, or broken-handed,20 or crook-backed, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or is scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken;21 no man of the seed of Aaron the priest, that hath a blemish, shall come nigh to offer the offerings of Jehovah made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God.22 He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy:23 only he shall not go in unto the veil, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries: for I am Jehovah who sanctifieth them.24 So Moses spake unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel.

Psalm 26

1 Judge me, O Jehovah, for I have walked in mine integrity:2 Examine me, O Jehovah, and prove me;3 For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes;4 I have not sat with men of falsehood;5 I hate the assembly of evil-doers,6 I will wash my hands in innocency:7 That I may make the voice of thanksgiving to be heard,8 Jehovah, I love the habitation of thy house,9 Gather not my soul with sinners,10 In whose hands is wickedness,11 But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity:12 My foot standeth in an even place:

Psalm 27

1 Jehovah is my light and my salvation;2 When evil-doers came upon me to eat up my flesh,3 Though a host should encamp against me,4 One thing have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after;5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me secretly in his pavilion:6 And now shall my head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me.

7 Hear, O Jehovah, when I cry with my voice:8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face;9 Hide not thy face from me;10 When my father and my mother forsake me,11 Teach me thy way, O Jehovah;12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine adversaries:13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah14 Wait for Jehovah:

Ecclesiastes 4

1 Then I returned and saw all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and, behold, the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.2 Wherefore I praised the dead that have been long dead more than the living that are yet alive;3 yea, better than them both did I esteem him that hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.4 Then I saw all labor and every skilful work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.5 The fool foldeth his hands together, and eateth his own flesh.6 Better is a handful, with quietness, than two handfuls with labor and striving after wind.7 Then I returned and saw vanity under the sun.8 There is one that is alone, and he hath not a second; yea, he hath neither son nor brother; yet is there no end of all his labor, neither are his eyes satisfied with riches. For whom then, saith he, do I labor, and deprive my soul of good? This also is vanity, yea, it is a sore travail.9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him that is alone when he falleth, and hath not another to lift him up.11 Again, if two lie together, then they have warmth; but how can one be warm alone?12 And if a man prevail against him that is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.13 Better is a poor and wise youth than an old and foolish king, who knoweth not how to receive admonition any more.14 For out of prison he came forth to be king; yea, even in his kingdom he was born poor.15 I saw all the living that walk under the sun, that they were with the youth, the second, that stood up in his stead.16 There was no end of all the people, even of all them over whom he was: yet they that come after shall not rejoice in him. Surely this also is vanity and a striving after wind.

1 Timothy 6

1 Let as many as are servants under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honor, that the name of God and the doctrine be not blasphemed.2 And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but let them serve them the rather, because they that partake of the benefit are believing and beloved. These things teach and exhort.3 If any man teacheth a different doctrine, and consenteth not to sound words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;4 he is puffed up, knowing nothing, but doting about questionings and disputes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,5 wranglings of men corrupted in mind and bereft of the truth, supposing that godliness is a way of gain.6 But godliness with contentment is great gain:7 for we brought nothing into the world, for neither can we carry anything out;8 but having food and covering we shall be therewith content.9 But they that are minded to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts, such as drown men in destruction and perdition.10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil: which some reaching after have been led astray from the faith, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.12 Fight the good fight of the faith, lay hold on the life eternal, whereunto thou wast called, and didst confess the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.13 I charge thee in the sight of God, who giveth life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed the good confession;14 that thou keep the commandment, without spot, without reproach, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:15 which in its own times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;16 who only hath immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power eternal. Amen.17 Charge them that are rich in this present world, that they be not highminded, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;18 that they do good, that they be rich in good works, that they be ready to distribute, willing to communicate;19 laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on the life which is20 O Timothy, guard that which is committed unto thee, turning away from the profane babblings and oppositions of the knowledge which is falsely so called;21 which some professing have erred concerning the faith.
