Genesis 46

1 And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer-sheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.2 And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.3 And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:4 I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.5 And Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.6 And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him:7 his sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.

8 And these are the names of the children of Israel, who came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s first-born.9 And the sons of Reuben: Hanoch, and Pallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.10 And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman.11 And the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.12 And the sons of Judah: Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Perez, and Zerah; but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.13 And the sons of Issachar: Tola, and Puvah, and Iob, and Shimron.14 And the sons of Zebulun: Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel.15 These are the sons of Leah, whom she bare unto Jacob in Paddan-aram, with his daughter Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.16 And the sons of Gad: Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.17 And the sons of Asher: Imnah, and Ishvah, and Ishvi, and Beriah, and Serah their sister; and the sons of Beriah: Heber, and Malchiel.18 These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter; and these she bare unto Jacob, even sixteen souls.19 The sons of Rachel Jacob’s wife: Joseph and Benjamin.20 And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, whom Asenath, the daughter of Poti-phera priest of On, bare unto him.21 And the sons of Benjamin: Bela, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.22 These are the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob: all the souls were fourteen.23 And the sons of Dan: Hushim.24 And the sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem.25 These are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and these she bare unto Jacob: all the souls were seven.26 All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, that came out of his loins, besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, all the souls were threescore and six;27 and the sons of Joseph, who were born to him in Egypt, were two souls: all the souls of the house of Jacob, that came into Egypt, were threescore and ten.

28 And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to show the way before him unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.29 And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen; and he presented himself unto him, and fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.30 And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, that thou art yet alive.31 And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father’s house, I will go up, and tell Pharaoh, and will say unto him, My brethren, and my father’s house, who were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;32 and the men are shepherds, for they have been keepers of cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.33 And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation?34 that ye shall say, Thy servants have been keepers of cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.

Mark 16

1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, that they might come and anoint him.2 And very early on the first day of the week, they come to the tomb when the sun was risen.3 And they were saying among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the tomb?4 and looking up, they see that the stone is rolled back: for it was exceeding great.5 And entering into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, arrayed in a white robe; and they were amazed.6 And he saith unto them, Be not amazed: ye seek Jesus, the Nazarene, who hath been crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold, the place where they laid him!7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, He goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.8 And they went out, and fled from the tomb; for trembling and astonishment had come upon them: and they said nothing to any one; for they were afraid.9 Now when he was risen early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons.10 She went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.11 And they, when they heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, disbelieved.12 And after these things he was manifested in another form unto two of them, as they walked, on their way into the country.13 And they went away and told it unto the rest: neither believed they them.14 And afterward he was manifested unto the eleven themselves as they sat at meat; and he upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them that had seen him after he was risen.15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to the whole creation.16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that disbelieveth shall be condemned.17 And these signs shall accompany them that believe: in my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues;18 they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall in no wise hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.19 So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken unto them, was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.20 And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word by the signs that followed. Amen.

Job 12

1 Then Job answered and said,2 No doubt but ye are the people,3 But I have understanding as well as you;4 I am as one that is a laughing-stock to his neighbor,5 In the thought of him that is at ease there is contempt for misfortune;6 The tents of robbers prosper,7 But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee;8 Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee;9 Who knoweth not in all these,10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing,11 Doth not the ear try words,12 With aged men is wisdom,13 With God is wisdom and might;14 Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again;15 Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up;16 With him is strength and wisdom;17 He leadeth counsellors away stripped,18 He looseth the bond of kings,19 He leadeth priests away stripped,20 He removeth the speech of the trusty,21 He poureth contempt upon princes,22 He uncovereth deep things out of darkness,23 He increaseth the nations, and he destroyeth them:24 He taketh away understanding from the chiefs of the people of the earth,25 They grope in the dark without light;

Salute them that are of the household of Aristobulus.11 Salute Herodion my kinsman. Salute them of the household of Narcissus, that are in the Lord.12 Salute Tryphaena and Tryphosa, who labor in the Lord. Salute Persis the beloved, who labored much in the Lord.13 Salute Rufus the chosen in the Lord, and his mother and mine.14 Salute Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brethren that are with them.15 Salute Philologus and Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints that are with them.16 Salute one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ salute you.17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them that are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which ye learned: and turn away from them.18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Christ, but their own belly; and by their smooth and fair speech they beguile the hearts of the innocent.19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I rejoice therefore over you: but I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple unto that which is evil.20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.21 Timothy my fellow-worker saluteth you; and Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsmen.22 I Tertius, who write the epistle, salute you in the Lord.23 Gaius my host, and of the whole church, saluteth you. Erastus the treasurer of the city saluteth you, and Quartus the brother.24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.25 Now to him that is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which hath been kept in silence through times eternal,26 but now is manifested, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, is made known unto all the nations unto obedience of faith:27 to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory for ever.
