If he was going to Jericho from Jerusalem, then he was either a rich priest or a Jewish businessman. Because the passerbys can't identify the man, and he didn't want to become unclean, so he ignored him. The Levite can see that the priest didn't help, and as his restrictions were fewer, so he came close and couldn't identify him, and since the Priest didn't stop, that he shouldn't help either. The Samaritan represents someone that Jews hate. There was historical hatred, but also the year before the Samaritans had desecrated the temple by spreading human bones inside. If he was found helping the Jew and the Jew dies, the Jew's family could charge the helper with murder. The Samaritan (probably a merchant) helps , out of compassion, disregarding the fact that if the Jew wakes up he will probably hate him. He wrapped him, and was like Jesus, who wraps our wounds (like Jesus in Malachi) and puts him on the animal. After taking the Jew to the inn, the Samaritan treats him (transforming us) and pays the full price (crucifixion) for him, he takes responsibility and fixes the injuries (sins) that the robbers (Satan) had caused.

Sometimes the potter is still working on people. don't expect christians to be perfect. the house is full of vessels that take time to make complete. sometimes they become marred. while we are in the hands of God, we can still make mistakes and mess up, we are still in His hands because He has not given up on you. He has not thrown us away. He is still patient with the clay. We are still moldable. Can He make you again? The question is not with God, it is with our willingness to be remade. We have never gone too far that He can't make us again. First rule of being a potter is that you have to have gentle hands; if you have rough hands, the clay will never do what you want. God has gentle hands. Jeremiah 18
