    I wish I could comment on your post. I can't remember the reference. But I read that the Greek word translated as "power" in verse 8 ("you shall receive power..") is the same word that we use to create the English word dynamite. And it denotes explosive power. Read more »

    When we speak of the evidence of the Holy Spirit in our lives we automatically gravitate towards speaking in tongues, prophesy, et cetera. But one of the greatest witnesses of the Holy Spirits indwelling the lives of the early church was their boldness. They were taken before kings and rulers and threatened with torture and death.
