The verses of Matthew 6:5-15 contains the essence of our personal prayer with the Lord. It is about praying in private, silence, stillness and isolation. Our call to act as Disciples of Christ is captured in the “Lord’s Prayer”. This is my interpretation of this amazing prayer. “Our Father, Who art in Heaven,” The prayer is based on the belief that a part of heaven and the grace of God exist in all men. It is part of our inner being and soul, however it is buried deep under layers and layers o… Read more »

The verses of John 6:1-15 (Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand) describes that “Forgiveness is Life” is the PRIMARY theme we live by as Disciples of Christ. By providing the masses with bread and fish, Jesus gave us our daily bread and forgave us our sins. In return he expects us to forgive those who trespass against us. As Disciples of Christ we are performing the WILL of the Lord through our actions on Earth. The Lord wants us to live a productive life with purpose and action that is based on hope… Read more »

The verses of Matthew 12:22-37 describes that man must be careful with the words spoken. For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. Matthew 12:32-33 states “ And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but… Read more »

The verse of Matthew 9:13 asks us to learn about the message “I desire mercy, not sacrifice”. Jesus told us it is more important to show mercy to those who are sinners and have different viewpoints., rather than to highlight our personal sacrifice and impose judgment on how people live their life’s. Do not place judgment for we are all sinners. Do not condemn, criticize, or complain. As Disciples of Christ perform actions of service, compassion, and kindness. The Lord asks us to be Disciples of Christ during our time on earth. This comes at a cost with our natural human instincts. The Lord asks for us to surrender our desires for security, affection, and control. He also asks that we let go of our need to change. Just as Jesus said the Son of Man has no place to lay his head, we are being asked to do the same as Disciples of Christ. We are told to put our faith in the Lord and that by following in his following his footsteps he will provide guidance… Read more »
