azstroh added a text contribution Drunk with Love
The Bible doesn't allow you to get drunk on wine or beer, but it does allow you to get intoxicated with the love and the body of your wife. I'm trying to figure out what part of the intoxication metaphor to apply. Perhaps that you drink more than you need, you're not wanting just a taste of your wife's love, you want to drink and drink and drink some more until you've got a good "buzz" going. Go overboard with how much you love your wife and how much you desire… Read more »

azstroh added a text contribution Counting the Men who can Fight
I'm going to agree with bennettc on this one, perhaps the church should be counting the number of men who can go to war rather than just counting the people who show up on Sundays. In other words, men who are spiritual leaders and who are competent to take the lead in spiritual battle. We need to demonstrate the value of men who are able lead their families in the way of Jesus. azstroh added a text contribution Remember Your Mercy, Not My Sin
David wants God to remember the lengths to which he went to turn him from sin rather than the sin that required God to go such lengths. What an awesome prayer, "Remember the mercy that you showed me rather than the sin that necessitated the mercy. Remember how you rescued me from the mess I made of my life, rather than the mess itself." It's kind of like asking a search and rescue team to remember the lengths they went to save you rather than remember the idiotic thing you di… Read more »

azstroh added a text contribution Matthew 7 - The Hard Way
SCRIPTURE: Matthew 7:13-14 Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. OBSERVATION: Jesus knows this concept better than any of us. What could be greater testimony to this statement: "the way is hard that leads to life" - than the cross on which Jesus would later die? The way to life is so hard that it could… Read more »
