I've understood the meaning, but I don't really know if I really got it until this morning. I have trust issues, just like lots of other people. Trusting people is terribly difficult for me because of what I've experienced, and because I cannot see or trust the Lord, trusting him has been even harder. blondelex added a text contribution Perfect LoveThis world is so full of so many phonies. The entire book of 1 John warns of this, but chapter 4 really starts to nail it down. A lot of people preach the nice stuff to win souls, the milk. But as we grow as Christians, we need to be weened off of the milk and put on the meat. The meat of the Bible is at times very hard to digest. It's hard to grasp the enormousness of the Lord and what he is capable of. blondelex added a text contribution God's amazing graceI think that sometimes we forget that forgiveness is for Christians too. In my life the most difficult person for me to forgive is myself. Then I read these words that John writes to Christians like me and I think, thank you God for your awesomeness. Instead of keeping sin hidden away in a secret place like so many (even churches) encourage all we have to do is be open with Him, and we are cleaned. Read more »
