bobrobbins added a text contribution determination + God = change
I am inspired by the woman in this story because she just would give up. I think many times we try once (pray once) and when it doesn't work out we whine about it and give up. When we begin to realize that we aren't in control and left to our own devices we will always fall short, it's at that moment that we start to count on God. On our own we are hopeless but when we pursue God and never give up God will change us and use us to change the world. Read more »

bobrobbins added a text contribution two things
There are two things in these verses that I have trouble with. "Trouble" - I don't like being in trouble or have trouble and this says that I should be full of joy when trouble comes. Then it proceeds to tell me to have patience - which is difficult to come by. He wanted to do great things in their lives but they couldn't get past baby Jesus. That can happen to us today. We like baby Jesus b… Read more »

bobrobbins added a text contribution what's keeping you locked up?
I think we are like the disciples in so many ways. I find it interesting that they are locked in a room and Jesus still came to them. There are all kinds of things that keep us locked up and in captivity and many of them are by our own doing. Things like bad patterns, addictions, fear, pride, lust, greed. Jesus comes to us even in the moments when we don't think there is any way He could get to us and he says to us stop doubting and believe. He wants to know if He is your Lord and your Go… Read more »
