caiiitlyn added a text contribution dont throw your pearls to pigs
For the longest time I struggled with this and thought about it and wondered what it meant. Then, last night, at church, it clicked. Last night's message was about sex, and it reminded me of this so much. I don't know if this is exactly what Jesus was talking about when he said it, but it does work-I kind of saw this as your pearls are your virginity and sexuality, and if you just go and throw it to pigs, people that aren't married to you and don't love you will just take tha… Read more »

caiiitlyn added a text contribution Stay salty
One of God's greatest attributes is that he is merciful, and that he will always forgive us, no matter what. But a lot of times, that's the only way we live. We think that we have unlimited chances, and that God will always forgive-he will, and that's good for our salvation, but we won't do any good in the meantime. Think: if I'm constantly partying, God will forgive me every time, but no one will take me seriously if I try to talk to them about what God's done for… Read more »

caiiitlyn added a text contribution God's Plan
When I read this scripture, I immediately wondered why on earth this would matter. Who cares if a man has sex with his wife? And I'll bet Joseph was pretty upset about this fact too. So why would God want to do something that's so hard? Why would he want to create ANOTHER trial for poor Joseph? Well, at the time, I bet Joseph thought that too. But now, looking back, it's a good thing that they didn't have sex-that would be just another reason for people to say that Jesus wasn… Read more »

caiiitlyn added a text contribution Redefine
Right now, I'm reading this book called Life of Pi. Apparently, it's supposed to make you believe in God, and though I already do, I wondered what kind of book would be so life-changing as to turn an atheist into a believer.. I started reading, and got a bit concerned. The man in the book claims to be a Hindu, Muslim, and a Christian, which can't happen. Basically, what he says is that Hindus have an extraordinary capacity for love, Muslims see God in everything, and Christians ar… Read more »

caiiitlyn added a text contribution Why bad things happen
I just finished reading The Screwtape Letters, which is an amazing book by the way, and it opened my eyes to a new idea I've never even thought of before: people always ask, "well if God loves us so much, then why does He let wars or natural disasters happen?" I never really knew how to answer that, but after reading that book I came across this bible verse, and I found an answer. One possible reason for natural disasters or wars could be for God to reveal the importance of coura… Read more »

This is tough..once you are free from the chains Satan's been holding you down with, you feel awesome and like nothing can touch you..but really this is the hardest time-he tries to come back unexpectedly 7 times stronger. Read more »

Its so important to see for yourself what is the truth so people don't deceive you. I used to just believe everything people said about scripture, especially if they were in positions of power. Like in the old church i used to go to, the priest would say that as Christians, it is our job to not convert people, but to encourage Jews to be better Jews, Muslims to become better Muslims..this isn't cool..That's why its SOO important to study the word!
