  It's striking how sacrifice is represented in these first few chapters. Repeatedly, God makes it clear that the only sacrifice He wants is the best we have to offer. He is not a God who settles for token sacrifice. It should cost us something. Read more »

Their feet didn't swell as they walked in obedience to God's command. Obedience brings an exponential provision of energy. Time is slowed down. Ability is multiplied.   We don't question eliminating the unfruitful branches. Most of us take a pause at cutting back the fruitful ones. We tend to think "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Jesus knows that just as a tree needs pruning to stay healthy, so do our lives and our ministries. Read more »
