cornchipmeteor added a text contribution Grace!This reminds me of an odd encounter I had with a stranger. As I passed him in the hallway, I gave the generic greeting "How ya doin'?" Instead of the usual "Good" or "Fine, how are you?" he said "Better than I deserve!" Wow. That made me think, and he's right! Only through Jesus taking my sins upon Himself do I have access to the throne. It is not through my own goodness or accomplishment that I have somehow "earned" the right to be called a daughter of God. He is building in me, ever so gradually, a sense of humility in this sense, for I have struggled, and still struggle, with a sense of self-righteousness. In fact, he becomes envious of the wicked, because they seem to be prospering in all that they do, while the psalmist himself is trying his best to be faithful to God, yet struggles through life. How many times have I also been envious of other people's success? Wondered at how such blessing can be given to the unrighteous?
