    This part cracked me up after seeing how sinful these people were. It just reminds me of people of our day as well. It is so much easier to give stuff, even money than to really sacrifice ourselves to God. Giving stuff is a concrete concept. Giving our lives is not quite as simple.     Human nature - we always want to compare ourselves to other people. The Kingdom of God does not work that way. I can't wait for His Kingdom to come and heal our ugly nature. I don't think we will have any sense of comparison in the New World. Read more »

    I always have such a hard time when I read through the Psalms and Proverbs and the authors talk about doing, wishing, praying harm upon their enemies. After Jesus came we were taught to love our enemies. I have to mentally picture my enemies as those evil spirits that try to permeate my life, not the faces of those humans that offend and hurt me.
