dkorff added a text contribution The Love OF A Father
One of the most moving thoughts I have of God is as a Father taking care of His son. I have 4 children and I value them more than anything and I would do anything for them. In the same way God desperately loves us will all his heart, soul and strength. Why would we ever think that He will not take care of us in every way possible that is Good (Rom. 8:28)? Trust In your father in heaven and lean not on your own understanding! Read more »

dkorff added a text contribution Following His Example
How many times have you had the opportunity to forgive someone? Did you forgive them? I think this passage is actually a bit frightening. Think about it! If you are not willing to forgive those who hurt you, God won't forgive you. Wow! But the flip side is so encouraging. When you do forgive others then God will do the same with you. What more motivation do we need to follow His example in this? Let go of the unforgiving spirit that haunts us all from time to time and forgive like God has… Read more »

dkorff added a text contribution It His Creation...
The first thought that came to mind when I read this was - "Why? Why would God wipe out everything?" As I thought about it, only one answer seem to come to mind, because He's God and He created it,thus He can do what He thinks is best. Outside of that, I don't know what else we can understand about it - we can't fully know the mind of God...But we can trust that from His perspective this was the best option for the good of those who love him (Rom 8:28) Read more »

dkorff added a text contribution Maybe Some Day...
What better way to have your life described than with the words, "Walking in close fellowship with God" The goal of anyone who has a heart for God should be to have their life described with those 6 words. Imagine the life that Enoch lived - a life that that was so intimate with God that God just took him away... He did not let Enoch die like the others before and after him. We should all desire an intimate connection with God like Enoch had. Read more »

dkorff added a text contribution Sacrifice For Their Forgiveness
In this verse we see the first sacrifice of an animal for man's sin. In the midst of this act of forgiveness by God to Adam and eve, we first learn that something had to die for the atonement of the sin adam and eve committed. I love how this foreshadows what Jesus did on our behalf on the cross. Because we sinned (Rom. 3:23) Jesus - God incarnate - came to earth as a man - lived, taught, and died so we could come before God in fellowship. May we not forget that all throughout the Bible sin… Read more »

dkorff added a text contribution My Prayer For A New Year
As I sit at the beginning of a new year, this verse seems to encapsulate what I want from my life. The desire of every Jesus Follower's heart should be to seek God's direction. So many times when I do that, I find myself asking the same thing that David is asking here... "Make your way plain for me to follow" I long for clarity in finding and accomplishing the purpose God has created for me. I pray for all who read this note - that you will allow God to lead you in the r… Read more »

dkorff added a text contribution Getting Into God's Word
One of the most important things we can do to stay connected with God and yet one of the hardest. Oh, to find delight in God's Word, to long for it like a desert wanderer longs for water. I love how the psalmist uses the analogy in verse 3 to really bring the point home. Those who meditate on God's Word will "prosper in all they do" They will be constantly fed with everything they need to be all that God has created them to be. Read more »

dkorff added a text contribution Just Do It
I like the message's wording here. simply watch what God does and do it. As a parent, I have seen how modeling has a profound affect on my kids whether they realize it or not. The same is true for us. Model God - in scripture - and Model Jesus - in the Gospels - then you will make an impact on this world. Read more »
