    I have often heard it said that if you are afraid that you have committed the sin of blasphemy then you have not committed it. Why? Because if you have committed blasphemy against God’s Holy Spirit you will no longer have the ability to feel remorse, thus you will not even have the ability to worry about whether or not you may have committed the unpardonable sin.     Notice how Matthew’s account of Jesus' ancestors only mentions four mothers, all of whom were involved in some sort of scandal. In fact Bathsheba's scandal must have been so bad by Matthew’s standards that he did not list her name; only that she was the wife of Uriah. Could it be that God inspired Matthew to record it this way so we would be careful not think too highly of our religious and/or ancestral pedigrees?
