edine added a text contribution The Borderless God!
I find this whole course of event so amazing! The way that God is at work...moving and working in the hearts of two very different men (Peter and Cornelius), to bring them together for the purpose of the Gospel spreading to the gentile world. At this time and with these men, it would have to be God. To me, the thing that speaks most loudly from this account is the heart of God for all peoples of all... Read more »

edine added a text contribution God Seeks...
Remember HOW you came to faith in Jesus Christ? Chances are, the longer your have been saved, the more you realize that it was God who found you, rather than you finding God. Truly (and miraculously) it is God who seeks us, and not the other way around. Whether we are religious or hedonist...God is the Initiator and the Finder. I remember how i was living completely for myself...in complete rebellion... Read more »

edine added a text contribution Healing Ministry
I don't know about you, but when i think of healing ministry, i think of certain television ministries that claim to heal the sick and cast out spirits from captive audience members, but whose ministers live in multi-million dollar mansions and drive uber-luxury cars. Due to their lavish lifestyles and extra-biblical theology, many on-lookers have decided that present day healing ministries are nothing... Read more »

edine added a text contribution A Formula for Growth?
So, after a season of extreme persecution, we read that the churches all throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria experienced peace. How wonderfully welcome this season must have been for all of the believers at this time. I have always heard that nothing grows the church like persecution (ie China, the Middle East...), and i can understand how persecution is used by God to purify His Bride and strengthen... edine added a text contribution More Important Than Martyrdom?
I don't know about you, but i've heard some Christians talk about how martyrdom is the highest goal of the Christian life. How it would be the greatest privilege to the believer to die for their faith. And, while i understand that their heart is probably just one of great gratitude for all that Christ has done for them that they want to give themselves back to him no matter the cost, even unto death...there... edine added a text contribution The Immediacy of Ministry!
When should a new believer start to tell others about Jesus? When should a new believer begin to serve within the context of a local church? I know some Christians that get right involved in ministry (maybe not church service, as much as a ministry mindset) right off the bat. They start to tell others about Jesus and start sharing Scripture just as soon as they can! But, i also know some believers... Read more »

edine added a text contribution The Role of an Ananias!
I don't think i've ever heard a sermon preached on Ananias. Barnabas, yes...but, not Annanias. It's interesting, but whenever i think of an "encourager", i think of Barnabas...and, that he was. Barnabas was a guy who reached out to Paul and took him in. But, he wasn't the only one to reach out the Apostle Paul...nor was he the first! No, this disciple named Ananias was God's front man. He was God's... Read more »

edine added a text contribution The Difference Jesus Makes...
Take a minute to think back to what you were before Christ saved you? Think back to how you lived your life, not only in "rebellion to God", but even as "an enemy of God" through your evil deeds. While not a pleasant memory, remembering the past can be good for us on occasion to bring perspective! Reading here in Acts 9 of who the Apostle Paul used to be, it is truly mind-blowing to see who He became... Read more »

edine added a text contribution The Power of the "Both/And"
Are you a preacher or a teacher? Most of would see ourselves more as one or the other. Some of us are more motivated towards evangelism, with a passion to see lost people come to faith in Christ through the proclamation of the Gospel. On the other hand, some of us are more motivated to teach, with a passion to see the Body of Christ built up through the explaining of Scripture. Again, i think that... Read more »
