foreverben added a text contribution disciples first
Jesus is presented by Luke as a teacher who purposefully decided to first teach his disciples. When he had a choice between mass evangelism and focused discipleship training, he decided to make his disciples priority. Read more »

foreverben added a image contribution along with persecutions
. In only three days, seven Christian churches have been bombed in Baghdad and Mosul. Four people died and many more were injured. Voice of the Martyrs-Canada's Adelle Konyndyk says it's not clear why the attackers are targeting churches, or whether the violence will intensify. "It's hard to say, it certainly is very concerning, the sheer number of attacks, but obviously it was a very, very well orchestrated and targeted attack against believers. So there is a concern that t… Read more »

foreverben added a image contribution making disciples on web 2.0
So far most of the contributions here have devotional character. That's very encouraging. But it is only the first level of many within a network like YV. And that is why we should really start to design some intelligent group bible study and discussion concept within the YV network. All the essential networking tools are given: following and being followed, tagging, linking, searching, publishing. I am sure, more is planned. Just another thought into that direction: We could have post-sec… Read more »

Without any doubt Jesus is the most outstanding example of a person with great faith. He was a visionary in that sense that He saw and lived according to the vision and assurance that His Father would always provide with unlimited possibilities. The more He saw the Father moving mountains the more His faith grew in Him. Let's learn from Jesus: Get your mindset adapted to God's invisible world without borders. He has millions of ways and methods to change hearts and situations. Unfortun… Read more »

That's the the cloud of witnesses Paul was talking about.. Let's join them! Read more »

foreverben added a image contribution kingdom perspective
"The masterpiece “Nightwatch” painted by Rembrandt has continually been a favorite throughout the ages. The painting is known for its contrast of light and dark. After the famous painting started to age a protective layer of varnish was placed over top the art work each generation in order to keep the original vibrancy. As a result the painting continually became duller with each layer. In the 1970s chemists were able to remove the layers of varnish without harming the painting. With the re… Read more »

Remember the words of the Apostle Paul which read: "This false teaching is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough!" (Galatians 5:9, The Message). See also: http://www.youversion.com/contributions/22656/kingdom-of-heaven Read more »

foreverben added a image contribution holy cow
It seems as if only very few people like to share and contribute on our daily bible reading plan. Why? Is there nothing to share? Or do most of us prefer to have their spiritual comfort zone? Hey-- we speak about traditions that Jesus wants us to drop and then follow Him entirely. Your comfort zone is one of the fattest holy cows that you don't like to give away. Read more »

foreverben added a text contribution trapped in tradition
We are all little or big Pharisees, trapped in a cozy feeling but killing tradition. There is none without sin. The challenge is that we are born and raised in a texture of tradition. Our parents and spiritual teachers, of course, are part of that flock. Well meaning they taught us that it is a good thing. Only the immediate encounter with the Lord of Lords reveals the truth about it. May He remind us painfully of it when we wash our hands. Daily. Maybe several times. Read more »
