freshairpoet added a text contribution Paralyzed By Fear
Sometimes in ministry I feel this same way. That even though I want to be a risk taker and a rebel against the things that don't glorify God I become paralyzed by fear. Instead of being the intermediary, I so long for someone else to be it. I wonder if Moses really wanted to be or if he was the one with the least fear and went ahead and did, or if he was scared to death, but he knew that God was in control? This passage gives us the difference in healthy and unhealthy fear. Later in the tex… Read more »

How often I think that God would rather me sacrifice something than to simply be gracious!!! How naive of me to think that God would rather me give some thing than to give someone MERCY... Read more »

As I read Ps. 13 I am compelled that even though the chapter starts with David screaming out to God to remember him and answer him...it ends with him Trusting and Singing to the Lord for he is good. I need to stop complaining so much and start trusting and singing more. Read more »

freshairpoet added a text contribution WHEN you fast...
Notice that this is a command not an option....Jesus is assuming that we will fast. It does not say "if" we fast but "when" you fast. Read more »

freshairpoet added a text contribution Care for the oppressed
I love that David talks about the oppressed in vs. 9 and says that he is always a shelter for them and a refuge in times of trouble. I pray that for my oppressed friends in the inner city. Then in vs. 18 he says, "The needy will not be ignored forever; the hopes of the poor will not always be crushed." Maybe it is time that I help renew hope to the needy and poor. My homeless friend Kyle I pray can see the renewing hope of Jesus Christ in his life. Read more »

freshairpoet added a text contribution Mmmmmm...that smells good!!!
God was pleased with the aroma of Noah's sacrifice because Noah was obedient to him. Because of one mans obedience God vows to never curse the ground again of the human race. I pray that my life is so obedient that God will be pleased with the smell of my life of sacrifice to him. Read more »

freshairpoet added a text contribution Thanks for not forgetting!!!
I love that it says that God REMEMBERED Noah. I laugh at first thinking that how could he forget. Of course he could not forget...God keeps his promise to Noah. Sometimes I forget that God remembers and I grow impatient. It is so refreshing to read that he remembers me in the small and the huge things of life. Read more »

freshairpoet added a text contribution What Are Mere Mortals?
So I am reading through the daily reading tonight and I am struck by a scripture that I have read over hundreds of times. It came from Psalm 8:3-4: "When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers-the moon and the stars you set in place--WHAT ARE MERE MORTALS that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them." I don't know about you, but most the time I think that I deserve God's love and thoughts and care. I get into this mindset of… Read more »
