    Paul makes a bold statement at the beginning of 1 Corinthians 11..."And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ." (NLT). I usually settle for the NIV's, "Follow me as I follow Christ." That's much less abrasive to me. That takes much less work. I can follow Jesus. That gives me a little more freedom.     Sometimes the simplest verses just make me go "Wow." Wow, I'm forgiven. Wow, he doesn't punish me for all my sins. Wow, he doesn't deal with me harshly. Wow, I really deserve the worst.     I like how the NLT uses this phrase to talk about the completion of God's Word. I emphasize "Word" intentionally as there is a deep meaning behind Jesus' connection as the Word (John 1:1-3,14). But leaving that conversation for a later time, I want to focus on the title phrase. It's so complete. God said... And that is what happened.     In verse six, the Lord makes an interesting statement that deserves some pause or at least thought. He says that there is a space with waters above and waters below. The only feasible explanation that I have heard for this is the Canopy Theory. It's an overarching, New Earth Creationist standpoint that believes there was a canopy of water above the Ozone layer which would have created a time of Barometric chamber filled with 100% oxygen.
