hollandgdub added a text contribution Earthen Altars!
The Message words it, "Earthen Altars". That is what God has called us to be. He won't stand for anything else that we would put up in front of or even next to him, i.e. anything of this world. He simply wants us to be the altar in which we offer up the things that are important to us. Not dressed up or dressed out, nothing fancy or showey; Just us! Anywhere and everywhere, at anytime, are we supposed to offer ourselves to God almighty. Read more »

hollandgdub added a text contribution Don't look at back.
Isn't this how we are as Christians sometimes? To afraid to leave the comforts of our captivity (the life we've grown accustom to) to follow God's Word and His will for our lives. We question God's power and athourity in our lives and in this world. Sometimes we think that just because there is trouble, or our enemy chasing us down, that it isn't woth following God. We sometimes think "I was better off (fill in the blank), than I am following God. I mean just look a… Read more »

hollandgdub added a text contribution Praise Him for That!
When it seems that life is at it's worst, and it's only getting "worser"; These are the the times when we most cry out to the Lord for help. It also seems as though these are the times when he ignores us the most. The reality is that God isn't ignoring us, He's testing us. Testing our faith in Him; Testing our remenberance in what He has done for us in the past; Testing our patience. God wants to know that we will still praise Him even when everything else around us… Read more »

hollandgdub added a text contribution Leave the Cave in ruins.
When our hearts have become hardened to God's will, we can remain extremely stubborn to what he wants to do in our lives. We often retreat into them like shelter in a cave. Hiding from God's calling and His righteousness. We may even become so proud that we would rather deal with all of the destruction that our selfishness causes then to just submit to the will of God, in our lives and in others around us! But aren't we just like Pharaoh at times? When our world is coming down, al… Read more »

hollandgdub added a text contribution Shut Up and let God Speak!!!
God gave Moses an awesome word that seemingly should have brought freedom and rejoycing to the Isrealites. The Problem came in when Pharaoh rejected his long lost brother, made things harder for the Isrealites by doubling their load and caused the Isrealites to reject their "lost brother" as well. Moses, already very insecure, is doubting what God is sending him to do even though He has shown Moses several signs already. Now he is dealing with the rejection of his people and 2nd guessi… Read more »

hollandgdub added a text contribution Holding on to God's hand.
Imagine a father and his child are walking on the side walk together. It's a nice day and they are having a good conversation when all of the sudden the child trips, stumbles over a default in the pathway. No problem, because the child was holding the father's hand he didn't fall to his face, and hurt himself. As they walk further the beauty that once filled the sky is beginning to turn gray and a few rain drops start to fall. No problem, the father knew that the rain was coming a… Read more »

hollandgdub added a text contribution Walk this road with the Lord.
We wonder sometimes, "Why is it when my world is falling apart the most I can't find God anywhere?" I'm convinced that at these times God is right there waiting for the dust to settle in order to show us the bigger picture! We don't have to know all the answers or everything that God is going to do in our lives. We just have to trust Him to Lead our way; Make the path through this life for us to follow! While He was in the garden Jesus questioned if what He was about to… Read more »

hollandgdub added a text contribution Serving Sheep?
This is true service to the Lord. This is the way Jesus served humanity. The amazing thing is that God had always wanted it to be this way, In Isaiah 58:6-9 God, talking through the prophet, says that the type of "Fasting" or service to Him is to loose the chains, untie the yoke, to set the oppressed free. To share your food with the hungry, provide the homless with shelter, clothe the naked and to not turn away your own family. Because then "Your light will break forth like the d… Read more »

hollandgdub added a text contribution Stay with God!
Even more than being ready for Christ's triumpet return to the earth, We should be ready daily to hear and see Him move in our world. We should intentionally Open our eyes to see God moving, Open our ears to hear what God is saying, Open our hands to do His work, Open our mouthes to speak His words, Open our hearts to recieve and share His love and Prepare our feet to follow in His path. It sounds like alot of work preparing for the Lord daily, but I'm finding that He honors our commit… Read more »

How many of us have been in this situstion? Buried so deep in the sin that we've allowed to run so rampant in our lives. So selfish that only do your enemies, that hate you already, plot even worse against you, but your family, freinds, neighbors and even business associates can't stand your garbage! It's Insane that we can let ourselves get so screwed up in the cares of this world and the lust of our flesh. But sometimes it takes getting this deep into a pit to realize how much w… Read more »

A small glimse into the great importance of being obedient to the words of the Lord and following them. hollandgdub added a text contribution Got Repentance?
What a beautiful passage explaining the transition from conviction to repentance to redemption. Then the verses go on to explain how to solidify our walk away from ourselves and toward our life fulfilled in the Lord's joy. When we are given to the circuimstances of life then we take our eyes off the Lord and on to them.(Like Peter walking on the water). When we keep our focus on and trust in the Lord: Heeding to His word, Praying to Him and Praising Him in the midst of the storms, then we w… Read more »

How quikly we will trade our inheritance, for the things of this world, when we're beat down, tired and weary from dealing with this life. Let's not be an Esau. It is a lonly and damagerous place to be when we are stuck in a pit of grief and self pity. We may know what we need, should do, want from ourselves, others and even God. But we are just to down troden to do anything about it. Whether it's life's circuimstances or our own actions that weighs us down, there's hope! If we will simply turn to God,and trustingly say, "You are God". It's amazing how quickly He is there to rescue, ("Save you with His mercy"), yo… Read more »

hollandgdub added a text contribution The Suffering on the Cross.
Amazing how David profisied of Jesus's own crucifixition. It's almost as if Jesus needed to speak out what he was going through on the cross, through David, because he knew that he wouldn't have the breath at that time. And we discount God by thinking "He doesn't know what we go through" or that He doesn't know was lies ahead of us. He has a plan for it all to bring glory to his name! Read more »

Our hearts scream out for companionship, friendship; fellowship. It's so important for us to have relationships especially when we don't want people to "Know or mess with our business." God has built into us this need and desire for a simple reason, it's a lot easier to deal with life when there are other people there to help us! Contrary to the internal belief that we can handle things on our own; that's just selfish pride. The more time that we spend developing th… Read more »

I'm reading in a book that compiles scriptures to a thoughtful prayer when I come across a thought that the author interjects " I make my schedule around your Word. " And it stood out to me because I thought " Can I really make my Schedule around God's Word?" The answer is yes! My wife often tells me, when I have lame excuses for not having a living prayer life or times of devotion in the word, "You make time for whats important to you; Whats really in your hea… Read more »

hollandgdub added a text contribution The Comfort of Captivity?
When we are called to do the will of God, it sometimes is a very hard thing to do, even when we know that it is best for us and the building of the Kingdom. Especially when we have grown to live so comfortably in our place of captivity. We learn to live under that thing that holds us captive for so long that we begin to believe “that’s just the way it is”, or “that’s the best I’ll ever be”, or “that’s what life has to offer”. Just like the Israelite’s in verse 4 that didn’t go to the calling to… Read more »

It's awesome to know that no matter where we are that God is always there to call us back, recieve us and redeem us from ourselves and from the ruin that our selfishness has caused in our lives. When we turn to him he will break our hardened hearts to reveal the tender love that is hidden within and cause us to honor and respect his word and the power it has in our lives. It is very important that we look back at our sin, in disgust, and not want to return there, but to keep excelling in ou… Read more »
