    As I sit and think about the light shining on in the darkness, it bings several things to me. First, I notice that the presence of dakness doesn't mean the absence of light. The text doesn't hide the fact that darkness exist but emphisizes the truth that in spite of the darkness, the light shines. Darkness is unable to shadow the presence of light.     This is a time where you have churches that are full of busy work. Not to be a critic of activity, but sometimes we can be doing a good thaing but not the right thing. In this passage, Jesus outlines what it means to possess the true meaning of dicipleship. In a day where we have programs, choir annuals and ussur board meetings, are we truly being Christlike? jesus gives us a glypse of the grace that the Holy Spirit pours into us.     The wonderful thing about our Lord is that He was able to see the humanity in the man with the unclean spirit. We must never forget even though people we come across in out daily ministries may have certain things about them that day frighten or even detest us, they are made in the image of our God. We must mentally separate the man from the sin state he or she may be in and bring them to the Christ who is able to make them whole. Read more »
