humneoproject added a link contribution Heaven Came Down by The David Crowder bandChristmas is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the fellowship, the music, the food and joy and wonder that appears on my sons face. I have to admit that far to often I get caught up in the celebration of the season and lose sight of the reason we celebrate. We are celebrating the birth of our Savior and LORD, Jesus, the one and only Son of God. But we like the focus on the music, presents... Read more »

humneoproject added a link contribution Skills by Manafest"Skills" by Manafest is another one of those songs that I probably heard one time when I first got the sampler CD that it is on and never really listen to again. I do think it is a shame that I form such instant attachment or detachment to songs as quickly as I do because I miss some deep lessons that might be lurking under the surface. If you have checked out the link to the song and listened to... Read more »

humneoproject added a link contribution All I've Failed to Be by Sonic FloodSonic Flood's song, "All I've Failed to Be", is an incredibly accurate description of the cry of my broken heart as I come before my LORD again and again. It seems that lately there are more times that I am going to Him feeling defeated and ashamed that I am to praise and glorify His holy name and the works of His grace. Read more »

humneoproject added a link contribution I Choose You by Point of GraceWe all make choices. I chose to go down this path and pursue a means to connect the Word of God to the music I love. You have chosen to read this, and I thank you for that. There are literally millions and billions and trillions or choices that we make all the time, from the mundane to the life altering; and remember - not choosing is also a choice. Read more »

humneoproject added a link contribution Angel in Disguise by PillarMusic is a very powerful medium that allows us to express feelings of joy, sorrow, praise and pain. We find comfort in music that relates to an experience or period of our lives. "Angel in Disguise" by Pillar is one of those songs that takes a slice of a tragic life situation to remind Christians that this world is still corrupted by the consequences of sin. Read more »

humneoproject added a link contribution I Fall by Spur58What is your reaction to the cross? Is it sadness, disgust, horror? What about worship? I love the line that opens "I Fall" by Spur 58 - "Blessed catastrophe you took the death from me, Oh what a mystery, Salvation came to me, That when such royalty, Would die across the tree". humneoproject added a link contribution CloserToday's technology affords us the ability to instantly connect to people over over the world, instantly. There is instant messaging, cell phones, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube and many more; yet we are still lonely. We long to connect to other people, yet the more we attempt to do that, the more isolated we tend to become. Read more »

humneoproject added a link contribution InfectedHonestly, where are the plain simple, strait out of scripture, hymns and praise songs? I actually didn't know I had this song and can say I haven't listen to it since I bought the CD six years ago. While I claim to like all music, I typically... Read more »

humneoproject added a link contribution Jesus' Blood Never Failed Me YetAs I listened to this song in preparation for this, I started to think about all of the times I felt as if God had failed me. Looking back on my life, I see how God has used my failures to work accomplish His purposes in my life. Friends, family and acquaintances have failed me. I have failed myself and others many times. Jesus has never failed me. Read more »

humneoproject added a link contribution I Will BoastIt is ironic to me that that thing that lead me away from the church in late middle school/early high school was one of the greatest tools to encourage me to stay strong in my faith as I began my new life as a Christian. Music, and all media for that matter, is extremely powerful. What may seem as an innocent song can quickly lead you to a place in your life that you never expected to go. Read more »

humneoproject added a link contribution Call to WorshipSince I have had considerably more time to think about this song, naturally one would assume that I have a great, deep message from God spoken to me through the simple lyrics of MercyMe's "Call to Worship". I don't. But what I do have is a broken heart as I witness my frail faith crack even more. I see my selfishness side by side to the King of Glory's selfless love. I have spoken words of destruction,... Read more »

humneoproject added a link contribution Hearts of the Innocent"Hearts of the Innocent" is such and raw and powerful commentary on the condition of the family and the consequences of the "relative truths" movement that permeates in the culture. For those that might be too young to know this, there was a time when divorce was extremely rare, children grew up being taught to obey their parents and there was an understanding that there was absolute truths that...
