inertia added a link contribution God's Judgment on America? If you think God is judging America by appointing Obama and plunging her into financial ruin, you don't understand a few things. America has just as many resources as ever. The natural resources and human resources are abundant, it's the man-made financial turmoil that is making everyone wig out right now. I know it's a big deal when my pastor tells everyone they're going to see hyperinflation which will ultimately herald the anti-christ. And, Obama is not the anti-christ… Read more »

inertia added a link contribution You Are Prideful (So Am I)Your problem is pride. This is true for the religious and non-religious alike. You won't get off your high horse and admit it, but it's still pride. People may have an alternate explanation, but it's still pride. Pride won't let you admit it. Pride won't let you see it. If you do see it, it's only because of a higher power. Pride is the sole reason for hopelessness. It's the beginning of sin, and the end of your life. Read more »

inertia added a link contribution Romans 13:1-7The Bible defines the kind of ruler we should follow. A qualified ruler rewards good and punishes bad. Do rulers reward bad and punish good? If you ask people in the world if they know rulers who do that, they'd say yes. So we have a problem. Is the Bible in contradiction or are people's definitions wrong? Read more »

inertia added a text contribution They prophesied, cast out devils, and did many wonderful works, yet ...They did all these things. Jesus doesn't say, "... they think they prophesied ... pretended to cast out devils ... did many so-called wonderful works ..." He says they actually did these things. Did they have the Holy Spirit? If so, can you have the Holy Spirit and have Jesus profess "I never knew you?" If they didn't have the Holy Spirit, how did they do all these things? How could they do these things in his name? inertia added a text contribution Only fornication?Did Paul really just exclude all other sins as being "against his own body?" I know fornication represents a class of sins from lust to adultery, but also I've heard Christians try to say that actions unrelated to fornication like smoking are sins because it wrecks the temple of the Holy Spirit. But Paul seems to refute that dogma. Read more »

inertia added a text contribution Garage Sale VerseHere we see the quintessential "garage sale verse." Someone will haggle down the price of something by claiming how worthless the item for sale is. Then when they get home, they put it on eBay. We are free to haggle, but if in our heart we know the item for sale is worth closer to the asking price, we shouldn't just lie to get a great deal. inertia added a text contribution Journey to BethanyVerse 12:1 says it is six days before Passover, which probably means the journey began on a Friday. Verse 19:31 states that the crucifixion and burial of our Lord was on the Day of Preparation (Wednesday) and this day preceded a high Sabbath day (not necessarily the seventh day Sabbath).
