    In this passage, Paul tells the Church in Corinth that they should give generously to the other Churches in need as the have plenty right now and WHEN they are in need, the others Churches will help them. He doesn't say "If" you ever find yourself in need, but rather "When" you are in need.     Did you notice how John's clothing and choice food is describe? It is very simple, nothing extravagant, nothing fancy, yet, he is the one that will be baptizing Jesus, Wow! What an honor! And he knew right away when he saw Him.     Could the loud voice be one of the great man of God of the okd testament? Also note how it says " And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony." Which means that our testimony, that comes with our salvation, which is our story of how God brough us to Himself, is important to defeat the accuser (the devil)?     This is one of my favorite Paslm! I love how David descrid how great and big our God is and yet, that He knows everything about each and every one of is children, that He is always with us, that no one can hide from Him.     God has hidden part of His plan from us, He told John not to write down what the seven thunders said, He asked him to "keep it secret". So, as much as we want to interpret the meaning of this book, with this missing piece of information, we can only do so without total accuracy.     God want's us to give cheerfully and generously and I must admit, it is sometimes hard for me to do altought it is clearly stated in His word, so... where does it say what I am suppose to do with the giving statments I get from the Church? I know the Church has to produce those, the government, who is in authority demands it and the Church is being obedient God by doing so (read Romans 13), but where do I find that I can use my giving in a way to get a tax break or even get money back?     Although the idols in the Paslm are refered to as object of silver and gold, they can actually come in many different ways; money, job, title....     People are crying out to the rocks for protection instead of asking God who they ackowledge in the very next sentence: ``hide us from the face of the one who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb.`` a good representation of all a lot of peoples responses to difficulties today. The great message here is that God the Father and God the Son, will work alongside to bring destrucyion on the ones who refuse to turn from their sins and to believe that Jesus is the way to heaven.     Jonah was honest and admited to the sailors that it was his fault there was a great storm. He told them that the only way they could stop the storm, was to throw him over board, but they refused and try to row hareder to try to outrun the storm. Although their help to Jonah might at first glance seems a good thing and it seems that it is rewarding his honesty, it shows that, if you are being desobedient to God, he will not stop the storm.
