    23 Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from their people.’ Peter was giving his argument as to why Jesus was who He said he was and that they should listen to Him (Jesus) or be cut off from their people.     Just as Jesus willingly came to this world to die and set us free from the slavery of sin. So too this story in the Old Testament parallels the salvation from slavery of God’s people in Egypt.
