If there is ever need for motivation it is now, and through these words He calms us down, telling us NOT to worry. Verse 27 - Who can add a single hour to their life by worrying? In spite of all the situations that we find ourselves in, economic turmoil, marital problems, or even concern for our lives, Jesus is saying do not worry, seek first the kingdom and everything else will look after itself. johnny added a text contribution Great whalesI was wondering why the "great whales" were being mentioned separately in this verse. It mentions every living creature that moves, and every winged fowl. In a subsequent verse (26) it talks about fish of the sea, fowl of the air and the cattle. It seems that the "whales" are symbolic of the ocean, it vastness, it is enormity, almost an acknowledgement that this is the biggest animal and a mammal (not a fish) alive. Read more »
