karensigman added a text contribution God's Promise
8 "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” This scripture is so powerful. The Lord himself goes before me. Wow! We are not in this alone. He will never leave me nor forsake me! Wow! No matter what he is with me for the long haul. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Again I say Wow! We are living in very uncertain times, but God promises he will go before us, he will never leave us and most importa… Read more »

11" Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true". I have been studying bible prophecy at great length for the past 3 months. I have been reading books, articles, and messages on bible prophecy. But, then I have been looking up every verse myself along with verses around the verse quoted. It has been such a rewarding experience. But,… Read more »

22 strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said. Showwiz you have it together! We need to really be praying for our churches! We need the Holy Spirit to fill our churches with a spirit of revival. Jesus is coming soon and many are not ready! Tribulations are being experienced all over our country. Prayer requests are long. The disciples encouraged Paul & Barnabus to remain true to the… Read more »

karensigman added a text contribution Faith to believe in healing!
8 In Lystra there sat a man who was lame. He had been that way from birth and had never walked.9 He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed 10 and called out, “Stand up on your feet!” At that, the man jumped up and began to walk. I was recently healed from an illness that I had suffered from for 27 years! When the healing happened I was laying in bed and praying for my marriage, my country, my church, and for the unsaved. I was not… Read more »

46 Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles. 47 For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “ ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ” Israel is God's chosen people. But, they rejected Jesus as the Messiah. God then turned to the Gentiles. You and Me. God included us in his pla… Read more »

karensigman added a text contribution God is with us!
4" For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.” I think this verse so describes our walk with God today. He is fighting for us. We do not need to fear what is happening in the present days. Unemployment, losses in retirement savings, our government leaning towards socialism, and most importantly how satan is attacking us in these times. I have really been in spiritual warfare with satan recently. But, God is directing me to s… Read more »

"15 But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel." I read the words "This man is my chosen instrument". Wow! These words are so profound. I want to be God's chosen instrument wherever he leads me. I want to be obedient to God in all ways. When we are obedient to God we can expect satan's attack. I read Ephesians 6:10-18 yesterday and again today. "Put on the… Read more »

9 “Because the patriarchs were jealous of Joseph, they sold him as a slave into Egypt. But God was with him". What I find so wonderful in this verse is the last four words. "God was with Him! God was with Joseph! The wonderful thing is no matter what his brothers tried to do to him God knew it, and He was with Him! God is with us today as well. These four words say alot. No matter what's going on in our lives, God is with us. We are not alone. Even if we do not feel his presenc… Read more »

"It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him". I think this verse so applies to our lives today. We are living in really tough times. I was reading our prayer requests from church this week. It was about sickness requests, Job losses, Divorce, Decisions that needed to be made in families, and Spiritual Strength. Our God is a BIG God! He hears our requests. Every last one of them. In this time of un… Read more »

I have taken a year off from all Church responsibilities due to an illness. l have been studying God's word for long periods of time each day. And the holy spriit is showing the garbage areas to me one at a time. And as I let go of this garbage God is healing me of my illness. I am taking it slowly but am starting to go off all my medication. You see God is healing me. It wasn't possible before because of things I was doing that were sin that I didn't even realize. karensigman added a text contribution Strengthen & Encourage Joshua
I came to this scripture and I stopped and reread it several times. God would not let Moses cross the Jordan, but he did allow him to go to the top of Pisgah and look west, north, south & east. Then he told Moses to "commission Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he will lead this people across and will cause them to inherit the land that you will see." While this had to be hard for Moses to lead the Israelites for 40 years and then not be able to take them into their fin… Read more »

When reading John 7 & 8 I have been asking myself would I have recognized Jesus as the Messiah who was sent by God? This has concerned me this week. The Jewish Rulers were looking for a Messiah, but had their own idea what kind of Messiah that would be. Today billions have turned away from Christ . God is so precious to me. I pray in the coming days more will seek God out. Turn from sin and follow Christ. My answer to my question is, That God would have opened my eyes to recognize the… Read more »

In reading this verse, " I eargerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death." We are living in the end times. This is not gloom and doom. This is fact. I pray for believers everywhere and for nonbelievers that we will not be ashamed of Christ. But that the Holy Spirit will give us sufficient courage to stand firm in Christ so that he may be exalted. This i… Read more »

karensigman added a text contribution Division
My take on this verse is that when Jesus returns it will bring division. Families, groups, friends may be torn apart because some will choose to follow Him and others will refuse to. There is no middle ground with Christ. You are either for Him or against Him. Our objective is to follow Christ no matter what the cost. Read more »

I am a community group leader, and I went through a rough time with one person in my group. I am not a comfrontation person and I was afraid of how to handle the situation. God gave me these 2 verses. "When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say." That is exactly how it worked. God gave me the words and the confidence to han… Read more »

karensigman added a text contribution Unforgiveable Sin
I have never totally understood the unforgiveable sin. When I read verse 10 I got out my life application bible and looked to see what it said. "Jesus said that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is unforgiveable. This has worried many sincere Christians, but it does not need to. The unforgiveable sin means attributing to Satan the work that the Holy Spirit accomplishes. Thus it is deliberate and ongoing rejection of the Holy Spirit's work and even of God himself. A person who has co… Read more »

"Do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more". I believe a hard time is coming to America. God's wrath for the sins of our country are upon us. We are a sinful nation. There are Christians all around, but we no longer are a Christian Nation. But I also read in scripture that God will give us peace. We will be able to withstand it. "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after can do no more". If we are killed we will see God… Read more »

karensigman added a text contribution Level Ground
In this verse first it states "teach me to do your will, for you are my God". I realize that I need to ask God for this over and over again. I seem to forget to ask for his teaching and wisdom and knowledge. Then it states " may your good Spirit lead me on level ground". As a Christ follower I need a good spirit and be on level ground. When I'm on level ground Christ is in control. He is guiding my life. When I try to do things on my own I lose that level ground an… Read more »

karensigman added a text contribution Recharge
I am at a point in my life that I am taking time to recharge myself. I burned out, became ill and needed time to heal. When I read today about Jesus finding a solitary place I am reminded that we need solitary time alone with our God. Sometimes we go to fast in our service to God. We take on too much, because there is so much to be done. But then we burn out and what good are we. So pick your service, what God is telling you to do. But more importantly learn to say no also. We need our s… Read more »

This verse spoke to me. How many times I have messed up by not asking God for knowledge and good judgment. When I take the time to include God in my decision making things turn out right. When I go ahead without including God sometimes things get really messed up. I am learning to ask for knowledge and good judgment in my decisions. I pray that I will continue this practice from now on. I need God's knowledge and Good Judgment. Read more »

These verses have been very precious to be during the past years. I have an imfirmity. And I have asked God to remove it more than 3 times. But I know God can use my infirmity for his glory because he has already been doing that. I can use it to serve him and to help others.. It is still hard, but God gives us the strength we need. I would like to know how the Jewish People remembered all these laws. They didn't have computers, manuals, televisions, radios, etc. How could they remember all of this. It makes my head spin. I don't think I would have made a very good jew. I would always be making mistakes with the law by not remembering when to sacrifice what . I guess that's not to different than with sin today. The difference is because of Christ dying on the cross, we can go directly to the man and a… Read more »
