Numbers talks alot about people using oracles. In this passage Joshua uses an oracle, but how did they know the difference between an oracle and a fortune teller? I mean people today say they can see the future so who are the good guys and who are the bad guys? Read more »

kdsap_16 added a text contribution God does bring bad things sometimesin this passage God basically says he is going to bring horrible things to the people if they don't obey him. I hear too many times, well God didn't cause that to happen he just allowed it to happen but right here he says "I WILL....." not I will allow. I'm not saying they won't cause it to happen because they sinned but God did it, he didn't allow satan to do it, he did it. Read more »

kdsap_16 added a text contribution The way to liveFor some reason I picture the TV show "Scrooged" with Bill Murray when he finally gets "it" This portion of scripture is what I truly believe is what we all are suppose to do. We are suppose to help others with no expectations of return becuase if we do that we will be blessed by God with a heart that is full. This is what fills your heart this is what blessings are all about. Go out and do good to perfect strangers and do it anonymously. Go out and do good for your frien… Read more »

kdsap_16 added a text contribution I have never heard of this July 15th CelebrationI don't understand what this celebration is. And what does he mean live in booths. So is he saying we need to go camping for a week, is this where summer break comes in? And then in verse 14 there is a decree we are suppose to uphold through all generations. Wouldn't that mean now also? Read more »

kdsap_16 added a text contribution Jesus PartiedThe Pharisees thought anyone who was a religious leader should be quiet, reverent and not fraternize with the ill repute. This is something I have had a hard time with for a long time. I continually go back to Jesus talking to the pharisees about the adultress woman telling them "ye who have not sinned cast the first stone" Jesus said only God has the right to judge. In this passage Jesus is trying to make them realize, we can go to parties and enjoy the company of others as long a… Read more »

kdsap_16 added a text contribution At the height of success God callsI never realized until now that just after Simon had probably the largest catch he has ever had, filling two boats, Jesus called him to be his disciple. It says Simon James and John all pulled their boats to shore, left them nets and all and followed him. So the boats were still loaded, as the Bible says, with so much fish it nearly swamped both boats. Jesus did this, I think for many reasons. Most would think to show he is God but I think it was also to make the diciples understand it is no… Read more »

kdsap_16 added a text contribution CelebritiesWhat a find in this verse. In a day and age that people are constantly worshipping pop stars, talk show hosts and movie stars it is so good to be reminded that even in the old testament God knows us in the now. So many people rely on the Oprah's to tell them what to do next but with this one verse it is very clear, take refuge in God and God alone, he is the only one who can guide you in the right direction every time Read more »

kdsap_16 added a text contribution I little more expanationDo you wonder why this was done? I understand that this was to mark the chosen for Priesthood but why did God choose to do this. I wonder why he didn't just take them up the mountain and impart them with the light that he gave Moses, this way they would stand out as God's chosen. Read more »

kdsap_16 added a text contribution how do you show love?It gives great discriptions of things we can do but without love it is worthless, but exactly how do we know we are doing things with love? My true desires are to try to love unfailing, to not be judgemental to be generous but is that what God is talking about? I want to do it right but I am not sure I am doing enough. Read more »

When I read this it just completely discribed what God has been speaking to me. If Jesus were physically here on earth what would he be doing? We are so wrapped up in gaining riches that we have no time to reach out to others, for if we did we would live in such a different world. This verse to me is what we are suppose to be doing, searching for those in need and helping them live well. Each day seeking out someone in need and reaching out to them, not to gain glory but to share a glimmer of… Read more »

kdsap_16 added a text contribution David is one to talkIn Psalm 101 is just seems David at this time is being very judgemental about the sinners but all I can think is he knows how weak he is so he wants to stay as far away from them as possible because he knows how easy it would be for him to join in. Still we are all like him, constantly judging others for their sins and we are not the judge. We are no better than those who judged the adultress when Jesus wrote in the dirt. Read more »
