    God loves to play in the dirt in the chaos of our world. 'Formless and empty' in Hebrew is Tohu Va-vohu. It can also be translated 'wild and waste' or 'chaos'. God is someone who brings order from chaos, flourishing from waste, light from darkness. This idea of the world put to rights is called Tikkun Olam.     I could be wrong (it's late and I haven't put a lot of thought into this), but I believe the first time we have a written record of the name for God (YHVH) is spoken is Eve in Genesis 4:1. But the first time we have a record of God saying it is Exodus 3:14 when he tells Moses my name is "I AM" (YHVH). Very interesting to me. Read more »
