lindsaymorgan added a text contribution peace, life, and healing: Fear of the LordMalachi 2:5, "My covenant with him [Levi] was one of life and peace, and I gave them to him as an object of reverence; so he revered Me and stood in awe of My name" Peace and life cause one to fear the Lord. This seems like a paradox or contradiction. No, it's an antinomy. Immanuel Kant describes an antinomy as "the equally rational but contradictory results of applying to the universe of pure thought the categories or criteria of reason proper to the universe of sensible pe… Read more »

lindsaymorgan added a text contribution The Redemption of MayAll day long I have thought that there is no state of being in which my abilities are a disability to God. All day long I have thought that God the Father is so good in his very essence. He is so good that he shares with me and makes me a beneficiary of his greatness. I have learned in this depraved, dark, mean, lonely, drought-like internal world that the more depraved, darker, meaner, lonelier, and drought like it gets the more this same God reveals his greatness in a more magnificent capacity… Read more »

lindsaymorgan added a text contribution Whose Glory?Do my good works make 'they'' glorify me or God? I am empowered by God through Jesus Christ to be good; to be good. I (must always) give credit to Christ when I 'do' good. When I do good, I pray that God has mercy towards me on how I credit these works. It is easy for me, in my individualistic culture, to say that I did good while implying that it was me who did good because I lacked the confession of the persuasion of God through the changing power of Jesus Christ in m… Read more »

lindsaymorgan added a text contribution She Sings (pt I)For someone to be merciful, they meet the needs of those who suffer. For someone to receive mercy, they are accepting the need to be loved during suffering. I love this with all my heart.... I love this. with all my heart. This verse is saying that there is a cycle to mercy. Thank you Jesus. The verse is saying that the merciful probably give mercy because they know what it is like to need mercy. I need mercy. I can remember needing it since I was 13 years old. From 13-22, I found myself painfu… Read more »

lindsaymorgan added a text contribution Heros and Heroines: not so much. What is man to do about the parts of Scripture that reveal the terror of God: Pharoah's hardened heart, Esther's mansluaghter, and the death of Ananias & Sapphira in the book of Acts. We have some certain explanations but for the most part we are struck by the sovereignty of God as he chooses as he chooses. We can, in the least, understand that there is much we are hidden from in the character of God. We can understand that God has a problem with sinful man and seeks to redeem it… Read more »

lindsaymorgan added a text contribution There is suffering for me to tend. Can you imagine the pain of the Hebrew people as their sons were cast into the Nile River? Let's not be a people that overlooks suffering in Scripture or in our culture today. We are lights of the world through Jesus Christ. In Him, there is no darkness. When we are near darkness, his light penetrates...it even penetrates the darkness of those around us. Let us be lights of the world! lindsaymorgan added a video contribution Actually, there is a reason...This video is shameful. I wish awareness didn't have to bring shame but I am thankful for it as an avenue. I'm not thankful for shame but where shame brings me: awareness, sometimes repentance, and a change for wholeness. If we change our lifestyles, we will be indirectly directly taking a stand on justice. Justice, in scripture, is most always seen… Read more »
