  The verse says Jesus unequivocally downplayed any reference to material possessions. Somewhere else, he said only the poor in spirit will inherit God's Kingdom.   This verse is supplemental to Jesus saying, old wineskins cannot hold new wine and you reap what you sow. We often just plant and plant, especially when everyone's all excited about planting, or keep pouring in new wine in cracked and antiquated wine containers.
