    Matthew 5:27-28 ESV "You have heard is was said 'you shall not commit adultery'. But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery in his heart." I have been guilty of adultery, maybe?     vs 1-2: does a jew have benefit over a gentile. of course they do, but not in the same way many thought. the truth is that, yes, jews were lucky enough to have the truth given to them before the gentiles, that is their benefit. vs 3: what if a jew did not follow the law? what if they did not believe the advanced knowledge that they had, are they not worthy to be saved by God now?     vs 1-3: "I just want to help a friend conquer the sin in his life, I am keeping him accountable!" This verse does not claim it, but it is the job of the holy spirit, alone, to convict people of their sins. When we show other's their sins, all we do is expose the sin in our lives to the world. By bringing sinful nature and choices to light in anyone's lives, we also prove ourselves sinful. It is not the judging that is sin, we already have the sin. Judging others only exposes… Read more »
