    As I read this passage, I feel a strong conviction about the way I address poverty in my community. Having been raised by an alcoholic mother in the impoverished side of town, I have always been on the receiving end of church donations and compassion.     Christ does something very simple in these verses. He speaks in relevance using the language of the people. To the fishermen, He says, "I will make you fishers of men." This should have a profound impact on our understanding of Discipleship. In other words, some one else's Discipleship may look different than our version of it.
