michaelt added a text contribution Boulder of lifeOur God is either a covering/hiding place for us or a block in our path. He is omnipresent, always there, everywhere. If we are seeking him we will find him (Jer 29:13) and find our rest in him (Matt. 11:28-30). Or if we are seeking our own good, getting ours, or doing our own thing he is a boulder in our path blocking our way, you will fall and be broken. I want to hide in you Jesus. "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live but Christ lives in me, and the life that i… Read more »

Maybe we should greet each other this way. I don't know, it would definitely need to sit no where near the "im blessed and highly favored" stuff but if you really believe it shouldnt we confess the word to each other? "What up Daniel? God is holy and his glory is all over!" God is Holy! Read more »

michaelt added a text contribution To walk in this...People ask me a lot about what i want to do, which career area would i go if money was no object, exc exc. And I seriously struggle with those questions, not having some copy paste answer to give. Then I read passages like this...when those hunched over and out of bent are made to stand straight again.. When I read that my heart was pricked and I saw not just literal people being made able to stand straight and tall, but those hunched over in sexual sin or simply spiritual darkness. People w… Read more »

michaelt added a text contribution The power of the SpiritThis is very cool to me...I'm reminded of Stephen and Peter preaching in Acts and the power in which was spoken. Stephen was unreal as he unfolded the story of the OT thru to Christ, before he was stoned. Also too, to come to that point where you stand before rulers and authorities preaching Christ shows a complete submission to the Holy Spirit in your life. So it only makes sense that it that moment the Spirit would place words on your lips... Read more »

michaelt added a text contribution Think about it...Seems like we do a lot of things, put up a lot of doors to protect from the one who might come in and kill the body. We avoid certain places at certain times to avoid that man who could do you great harm, but then we walk right into the hand of the one who has the power to throw people into hell when we walk into repetitive sinfulness and unrighteousness. When you read thru this verse, Jesus is warning his disciples then and now us to be on our guard. We all know that the Pharisee yeast is small bits of hypocrisy here, little distortion there, that can grow and grow you away from truth. Just like how a small amount of yeast causes a loaf of bread to grow and rise out greatly, unless it indeed is left too long and the bread collapses (hmm...maybe any uncovered hypocrisy that stacks up in our lives will lead up to the collapsing of our lives or… Read more »

michaelt added a text contribution Well I overcomplicated this a time or two!Seriously, It's kind of like that feeling, the love you feel when people you enjoy are persistant about getting to spend time with you. Except God's not fishing for a feeling or some kind of need, he has none. But he is speaking VERY clearly to us. Read this in the message, it's straight at your face! Come and get me, Annoy me, Knock at my door all night, You never can get enough...Come! I love this, "This is not a cat and mouse game were in" It's not!… Read more »

I think I forget this. That i'm the kingdom of God; an extension, a member branching outward. What would we look like if this was heavy on our minds everywhere we went. At Kroger or in the car thinking, "I'm a extension of the Kingdom of God, where I go the Kingdom comes with me." How would we act? Help us Jesus to not make this a hobby, an "Oh I almost forgot". I want every aspect of my ilfe to lead to you and be glorifying to you. Read more »

michaelt added a text contribution Live like Christ? As you read through the gospels and the detalied look at Christ's life this stuff is stimulating! It's wild and exciting, Christ was not a boring dude. He turned the ancient world on its heels with his actions. "Only those of you who do the will of my father will know me in heaven." Was not Christ in himself the very will of the Father? Are not their wills intact and whole? Then this is how we should live. Now that "Christ lives in me" this is what our walk sh… Read more »

michaelt added a text contribution The overwhelming joy!How can we even describe this in words? It is so WORTH it to give your all for Christ. We are most right, when we are most right with our creator. I've lived on both sides of the fence; God is worth it, your joy is made complete, his grace abounds and your efforts are not in vain. Help me articulate this in my life Jesus, let your truth seep deep. Read more »

michaelt added a text contribution Awesome GodI encourage you to read these verses with the Message. The man with leprosy says "If you want to, you can cleanse me." Christ's response is such a depiction of his great desire for us as his children. He says, "I want to, be clean" Christ is good to his people! He wants us to be clean, he wants us to be delivered from the chains of sin! But we must fall down before him, we must. I want to be clean for you Lord, I want to to do everything that you so desire for me… Read more »

My heart just agrees with the reverance that Elizabeth and Zechariah are walking out with God through all this. I'm not sure how exactly how things were culturally when it came to naming children, but we do see that it's tradition to pass down the father's name. Now, being a man this is tough! I wanna have a boy that looks like his daddy and holds some portion of his daddys name! But to see how Zechariah responds, "His name is John". There's no question, he has… Read more »

michaelt added a text contribution Moving in the Spirit (Obedience!)Man I love this, we often here the verses from matthew about being a "light" and to not cover it up. Then here in v. 8 after we read the kind of fasting our Lord desires Isaiah says ,"then your light will appear like the dawn..." It just gives hint to how once we begin to walk and move in the spirit, against the culture, things happen. We wonder why our light doesnt shine....maybe we should all just begin to do the work of the Lord (Help us Jesus) and see what happens. Read more »

michaelt added a text contribution Did you mean that?I love this chapter, but have read through before and been like, "David, you just said all that, why are you repeating yourself?" It hit me different today, he can't say it enough. In this age, we cant rely on any one person for everything...certain friends represent different things and we interact with them all different. But here, ONE God is our rock and stronghold, in him ALONE we will never be shaken. This is why we can't say it enough! When we're weak: God is… Read more »

I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! - We can't read enough, pray enough, exc that we might in ourselves be strong enough to resist the plights of satan and sin. We can only beckon the father and put ourselves in places of reading, prayer, growth; that when the sin comes there will be no gap for a root to spring up. Dwell richly in me Jesus. We must get low in our spirits! "Who will rescue me from this body of death?" - I love this, because the idea or rescue implie… Read more »

2 I said to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have no good besides You.” - Apart from Christ we have nothing good! There's is no ability for us to be righteous apart from Christ, "our works are as filthy rags before the Lord". Every good and enjoyable thing comes from the father and must be seen through his lens. I need Jesus so bad to not get stuck in the mud of sin!! Help me God, you are our only hope in ever moving forward. Read more »

Sin siezed it's opportunity through the law and apart from it sin is dead because it must go through the law to have any place. Jesus in his death did not go through the law, but fulfilled all the law and the prophets. Apart the law, Jesus lives. He's not dependent on anything. Awesome Read more »
