From my blog... http://luke4church.com/2009/10/26/what-is-a-luke-4-church-following-jesus-example/ As a recap though, let me go over the premise of what a Luke 4 church is. A Luke 4 church is one that embodies the ministry of Jesus. In Jesus' very first sermon, which recorded in Luke 4:18 & 19, he lays out the mission or vision statement... even the strategy if you will for how he was going to... Read more »

From my blog... http://luke4church.com/ Over the last few years, I have studied the different ways of doing ministry… programs, plans, strategies… I have researched all of the different “ways” of doing church. I mean for a long time I aligned myself with the missional camp… almost jumped in the emerging church camp… being a part of a evangelical, program driven church… we tried the seeker sensitive... mobilemalcolm added a text contribution God's love is missional
For many people the word missional is a fairly new word. Those within churchdom or more accurately churchdom leadership have become more familiar with this word in recent years. Matter-of-fact, I have a former blog that was dedicated to nothing more than the conversation, explanation & example of what missional looked like. To set up today's post, let me try to define for you not what missional... Read more »

This morning as I was continuing my study through 1 John… I was reading & studying 1 John 4 & 5. You see there are so many misconceptions of about who & what God actually is in this world. But here is one constant… GOD IS LOVE. This excerpt from the Bible Exposition Commentary states it pretty well. God is love. This does not mean that “love is God.” And the fact that two people “love each... Read more »

mobilemalcolm added a text contribution Sharing God's love
As I have been writing for the past week about God's love, I have mentioned a couple of times now about how many times we as Christians struggle with showing God's love. I mean, let's be honest, I would consider myself an "empowered evangelical" and evangelical Christianity is not known typically for it's love and the sad part is that Jesus did not say... "you will be known by the amount of people... Read more »

mobilemalcolm added a text contribution What does love look like?
As I have said this week, I have spent a fair amount of time thinking about God’s love and what it means for us. Of late, I have had this disconnect from head knowledge of God’s love & my heart experiencing God’s love. So this week has been good to go back in study pretty intently, 1 John. I think that many times we Christians miss the mark when it comes to love. Our pastor said the other day, some... Read more »

There are going to be times when God is calling us to do something that we do not want to do. In my case, these scriptures encouraged me that as God was calling me to do something that I did not want to do... it reminded me that the battle was not mine. It was God's. Plus, if God was calling me to confront a Brother on sin in his life... then this was a God issue... not a me issue. Regardless... Read more »
