hardest thing
This is the hardest thing for me to accept. I struggle with the thought that people who live like Jesus and follow his teachings and believe in God but don't profess Jesus as Lord would be condemned.

how different we are from God!
He is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked. I guess it's a good thing that he is kind to the unthankful because we are unthankful! But the wicked? Very difficult for us to understand that.

The last 2 days readings have spoken directly to me. And still I sin. I have trouble with self control in many areas of my life.

personal accountability
having a prodigal daughter, this verse gives me some comfort. Too often I hear that her behavior and lifestyle is the way she was brought up rather than her own choices in spite of how we brought her…

personal accountability
Ezekiel 18:20 (NLT)
The person who sins is the one who will die. The child will not be punished for the parent’s sins, and the parent will not be punished for the child’s sins. Righteous people will be rewarded for their own righteous behavior, and wicked people will be punished for their own wickedness.Created 10 months ago

difficult passage for me
I admit I have trouble verbally witnessing and warning even my own family members. So if I have had the chance to warn but didn't and they die in their sins, God will hold me accountable? Pretty scary…

Moral decay
Jeremiah weeps over the moral decay and destruction of Jerusalem. As Christians how are we reacting to the moral degradation that we see all around us today? We should feel the same sorrow.

we get it wrong
So often we think that our "works" is what gets us close to and right with God. But it's works that result from our relationship with God after we have put our faith in him.

Everlasting God
I love Isaiah 40: 27-31 and I love Chris Tomlin's song where the little child recites these verses at the end.

outward and inward
I am guilty of this but am trying very hard to make my inward feelings and thoughts match my outward actions and vice versa. I see the "hypocrisy" here meaning when we say we are Christians and are involved…
