rlbwalker added a text contribution What the Father think of JesusThis is really the song of the Father, about what He thinks and feels about Jesus, specifically when Jesus returns. God is not stoic nor religious. He overflows with emotions and feels deeply. We see this from the first verse. The Father's heart OVERFLOWS with a good theme. It is as if He can't contain it!!! The Father is eager to tell the story of Jesus the Son. The Father's tongue is a pen of a... Read more »

rlbwalker added a text contribution The Father's house has plenty of roomThere is a motivating fear that was driving Peter that Jesus is addressing here. It is this: "I have to show that I am worth having around or there won't be room for me in the Father's house. I have to show what I have versus everyone else or there won't be room for me." Performance is not going to carry us through. Committment like we think is not going to carry us through. Remember Peter denied... Read more »

rlbwalker added a text contribution We have a High PriestIt is amazing that Peter could fail in one sense and not fail in another. He failed in the that he denied the Lord three times, but he didn't fail in the whole scheme of things because Jesus prayed him through. There is an intercessor in heaven who is praying for you to come through in the full purposes of God. No devil in hell, no power, no principalities can stop it. He is praying us through.... rlbwalker added a text contribution Encountering God-Prayer DialogueIt is not enough to study the Word, we must give our heart to God and receive from Him as we read it. Bible study is most effective when it creates a dialogue in our heart with God. Scripture gives us the “conversational material” in our prayer life. It creates the language of our heart with God. Using the Word in our prayer language with God makes prayer easy and enjoyable. Hearing someone teach... Read more »

rlbwalker added a link contribution Cultivating the Knowledge of God - five conditionsCondition #1: we set our heart to walk in full obedience (if you will receive My words v. 1a). The Holy Spirit is the only one who can reveal Jesus to us. If He is quenched, we will not receive His revelation of His dear friend Jesus. Prayer is no substitute for the intention to obey God. Condition #2: we meditate on His Word (if you will treasure My commands, v. 1b). We treasure God's commandments... Read more »

rlbwalker added a text contribution Description of Jesus A-R-KA- Agreement: make declarations of agreement to Jesus about who He is and what He does. We identify the core truths in each of the 30 descriptions (some overlap), then simply declare the truth back to Jesus with affection and gratitude. For example, “Jesus, I thank You for being a faithful witness to the truth. I love this about You. I trust what You say”. R- Revelation: pray for increased revelation... Read more »

rlbwalker added a link contribution F-E-L-L-O-W-S-H-I-PThere is a great prayer model to follow when you don't know what to pray. F-fear of God (Father, release the of God into my heart) E-Endurance (Father, strengthen my spirit to do Your will with zeal) L-Love (Father, pour out Your love into my heart that it will flow back to You and to others) L-Light of glory (Father, let me see the light of Your glory) O-Onething Focus (Father, I choose to... rlbwalker added a text contribution Overpowering DarknessLight is more powerful than darkness. When we feed our spirit on light, darkness can not overpower it. This is a good analogy. Many people approach their struggle like a person getting a bucket in a dark room and opens the window and starts "pouring" the darkness out of the window. Another guy comes along and says, "What are you doing?" and the first replies, "I'm trying to get rid of the darkness!... Read more »

rlbwalker added a link contribution What is the good thing? For him to have found that good thing we must obtain that good thing toward him through our respectful submission to him, which is unconditional. The wife must see that she respects and reverences her husband [that she notices him, regards him, honors him, prefers him, venerates, and esteems him; and that she defers to him, praises him, and loves and admires him exceedingly].- Eph 5:33 For your...
